If you're familiar with our site, you probably have noticed that it's finally gotten some design to it. So, I'd like to take this opportunity to go into a bit of detail as to what happened and why.
Over the years, you've probably noticed that greenviolet.net has had a sparse home page, at best. This was, simply, because we didn't really have much to publically put up. There's always been content on "this" side of the site (e.g. for clients), but we only ever gave direct links to that content. Rest assured, that content is not going away; this new site just sits on top of it. :)
So, why now? Well... If you've been following any of us on IRC or Twitter (or real life...), you've probably heard rumblings as to things we've got planned for public consumption. And, guess what? They're starting to near that point! So, we need web infrastructure in advance. When this stuff's ready, it'll be able to just be announced.
At the moment, this site is powered by Frog CMS, running on nginx and PHP-FPM. All this is on a Sun Fire v100 running Solaris 10. As we get more online, the server will probably change (probably still a Sun server running Solaris of some form, however!) but that will hopefully be transparent to you.
Also, if you use IPv6 and your browser tells you which method you connected by, we'd like to know if you can only connect by IPv4. Contact us via the About Us page. :)
